Sales ending soon

Tomorrow is July 31st, which means that the sales are ending ( for now. There are another sale/ promo push coming around my birthday). Please buy  a copy of The Cauldron Bound at either Kobo or Kindle, if you haven’t already. I have tweaked the blurb, too:

Worn down by centuries of war, all Aodh want is to return to his smithy, to live a life in peace. When his chieftain tasks Aodh and his friends with finding out why the Portal Clan isn’t showing any signs of weakening, they accept it, despite knowing it is a desperate mission.

As they travel through the territories, Aodh and his friends discover that the dark elf clans on the other side of the Forest are ensnared in a web of foul magic. As they search for the source of the foul magic, they are unaware how vicious the web is.

Their search leads them to Moirin, a hermit, living in the mountains.

Moirin is old and tired and doesn’t want to leave her valley,  yet she knows that she is the only one that has the knowledge to stop the foul magic.

But their plans changes when the enemies catch up with them. Instead of heading to the lowlands, they have to head deeper into the mountains, and hope that the reclusive clan living there will help them.

Little does they know, that the Mountain clan have their own plans for them, a plan that will let Aodh and his friends to discover exactly how vicious the Portal Clan’s web is.

Oh!

If you haven’t downloaded a copy, The Alchemist’s Apprentice is free at Instafreebie, which also ends tomorrow.

5 promo things I need to get better at

This is the kind of promo that don’t cost anything but time.
1. Create graphics w teasers
2. Do a coming soon post 4-8 weeks before release.
3. Offer ARCs 4-8 weeks before.
4. Post the graphics I made earlier on social media with links.
5. Do Flash Giveaways.( offer Epub or mobi, since most e-readers cannot read pdf in a good way)

This is all  small things, but I think it is something many authors forget about. I do some of them but in a haphazard way. I need to get more structured, which is part of the reason I  wrote this list
It all boils down to that you have to tease readers, or they are not going buy your books. Or at least that’s the case with me.

The Alchemist’s Apprentice free for a limited time

In my eternal search for more ways to promote my books, I stumbled upon a page called Instafreebie. It is run by a company called Libboo, who also runs a bargain promotion site called the Midlist. Since I liked the idea of the service, I decided to test it.

As a result, you can download a free copy of the Alchemist’s Apprentice for the next week. I hope you do! Since it is a nice little story, that have been read by too few.. 🙂

Recent reads: A bit this and that

The Forteous meeting by Christopher Kastensmidt.

This is a novelette, set in Colonial Brazil. Aliette de Bodard recommended it on twitter earlier today. I downloaded it and read it on the commute into town, and I am glad I read it. It was a really good story, and I cannot wait to read other two stories that is available. ( Also: Pretty, please write more!)

A Bodkin for the Bride by Patrice Greenwood.

I love The Wisteria tearoom novels, but I was a bit disappointed in this one. It was good, but I wanted Tony to be the lead investigator, since a bit of the magic disappeared. Though I still want the next one.

Radio Silence by Alyssa Cole

So my twitter feed is 50 per cent SFF and 50 per cent romance. And at least 70% of the romance people have recommend this book, so I bought it when Carina Press had a sale recently despite the fact that dystopia isn’t my genre.  Everyone that recommended it was right. It was that good. 🙂

I also glommed the Welcome to Hell series by Eve Langlais.  Since I was in the mood for something lighthearted.

And read a Nalini Singh short story collection. Which reminds me, I need to re-read her Archangel series. Again.  ( If you want really good books, read Nalini Singh. Seriously.)

I am part of this week’s Mind Meld

When I was on vacation, I got an invitation to be part of this week’s Mind Meld. I didn’t hesitate, since the subject was fun, and I knew who I wanted to pick.

Read my answer, and the other participants, over at SF Signal. Since I am part of the Mind Meld, I am extending the discount for The Cauldron Bound at Amazon for the rest of the month. I have other promo during the next couple of weeks planned too.

I want summer

I am on vacation from in the dayjob this month. Except I am wondering if it is July. Normally a month that is rainy but not cold. This year? It is rainy and Cold. It is supposed to be between 11 and 15 C today. Yeah. Which is 10 C too cold. Which I guess I shouldn’t be surprised over since winter was 10 C too warm.

The only upside is that the weather means I have no guilt over staying inside to work on the revisions. And the revision is  going great. I am making nice progress. So far I have revised 1500-2000 words per day.  If everything goes as planned I will be done before my vacation is over.

Facebook page!

I finally got around to make a Facebook page, since I want to do promo without spamming my friends and family. Plus my profile is in Swedish…

So you can find me here. Come and like my page!

The Cauldron Bound is available at Kobo

Just a quick note to let you know that The Cauldron Bound is available at Kobo. And before you ask, the tech issues wasn’t solved, I simply uploaded it directly.

Which is something I have been thinking about for a long time, to be honest. If the sales are bad I want to know, so that I can try to fix it.  That is hard to do if you have no data…
