Wizard of London by Mercedes Lackey

This book is set in Victorian London-where magic is real and Elemental Masters control the powers of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. This is the fourth novel, and it tells the story of Lord Alderscroft, Master of the British Elemental Masters Council-the most powerful Fire Master ever to lead the Council. This one is a prequel to the other novels and tells Lord Aldercrofts story.

Normally, I love Mercedes Lackey’s books, especially the Elemental Masters Series, but this one… isn’t as good as the other ones.
The other ones have been fascinating, unexpected plot twist, but this one wasn’t. Why?
The feeling that I personally get is that it feel like, two shorts, and one novella with the same characters. It simply don’t feel like a novel.
There are intresting parts, but the intresting parts are things that just are mentioned briefly. Like, that a couple of the characters isn’t mages they are Talents..
What I hope is that this book is a kick off to a new series.

My advise is: Buy it when it comes out in paperback, or borrow it from the library.
