Pondering short stories

I am writing a short story from Jenny’s POV right now. It takes place at the end of her apprenticeship to Arwel. I don’t write many short stories, but I am writing this one,  because of one line in Daughter of the Dark. I also have a couple of other short stories about Jenny that […]

A Cover for The Alchemist’s Apprentice

So I decided to take today off from writing. The result? One short story edited and a cover for the short story designed.  And here is the cover. I like it. I originally planned on having a girl dressed in middle easternclothing on the cover, but I dropped that idea since the girls I […]

Done!

Last night, I finished the first draft of the WIP.  The first draft is at 27000 words. A solid foundation for the second draft. I know that the second draft will be longer, even if I am not certain how much longer. Today, I am doing edits on The Cauldron Bound. I am aiming for finishing […]

A snippet from the WIP

Since it is Easter, and since all my friends are doing it,  here is the first 200 words from the unnamed WIP. With a release date of that I am not announcing yet.  This is unedited, so it is filled with typos, but I hope you enjoy it!   I looked up when the doorbell […]

Experimenting with iAuthor

A lot of promoting services follows me at Twitter, don’t ask me why. Most of the times I click their profiles, skim their last 5 tweets and then I ignore them. When iAuthor followed me today, I did the same but there was something about them that made me curious enough to check out their […]

Where are the non-white elves?

During the last year, or so, there have been a lot of discussion about diversity in fantasy. I have mostly been quiet and listened to all the energy and interesting discussions. However, one thing has been nagging at me for awhile is that elves always are fair skinned. Why is that the case? Oh, I […]

Writing short is a skill

I write novellas, and I think I am the only one in the war room that does that regularly. I know Catie and Laura Anne does it occasionally, and some of the others writes short stories.   Mainly, though the others in the war room write novels, of the 100 000-150 000  words version ( […]

Booktrailer!

Yesterday I found out how Chrysoula created her Kickstarter movies, and as a result I spent today creating one. In the end, I went with Gimp and iMovie to make a book trailer. It was fun, actually. 🙂 Here is the resulting trailer for The Cauldron Bound.
